If you are interested in joining the West Chester Area Community Chorus, we accept new members during the first two months of each season.  September/October (and February/March during normal years).  Simply come out to any rehearsal during those months and sign up!!  Make sure you check our schedule page for details on our rehearsal location.

**** Please note that this is our 20th anniversary year and we will only have one concert in April so we will not be accepting new members after 1/1/2017!!  We will be back to two seasons/concerts next year.

We accept singers of all voice parts and levels.  There are never any auditions but we do request a $10 per season (Winter & Spring) membership dues to help purchase new music and cover operational costs.

In the meantime…….

The West Chester Area Community Chorus

The West Chester Area Community Chorus began in 1996 with a group of 28 singers at our first rehearsal, quickly grew to over 60 for our first concert and are now over 160 members.  We do not require auditions so we have all levels of singers in our group.  Our only requirements are that you are out of high school, enjoy singing and want to have a good time.

Our season runs during the school year from September to May and we typically perform two concerts each year, one in January and one in May, at which, we present a variety of musical genres in our concerts.  Everything from classic choral pieces to Broadway show music, pop songs, spirituals, folk music, men’s and women’s ensemble pieces and more.

We also do community appearances such as singing the National Anthem at a Philadelphia Phillies or Wilmington Blue Rocks game.  We also perform at the West Chester Olde Fashioned Christmas and local retirement communities during this past season.  On several occasions, we have had the privilege on Veterans Day to perform during the Military Order of the World Wars service at the Washington Chapel on the VF National Park grounds and many of our members participated in the Macy’s Random Act of Culture in October 2010 singing the Hallelujah Chorus along with 650 other singers from around the Delaware Valley.  All of these performances/activities are voluntary and as a member of the group you are welcome to sing at any or all of these venues.

We rehearse primarily at West Chester East High School on Monday evenings from 7:00-9:00 PM and we typically perform our concerts at East High School.  When the high school is not available to us, we use alternate rehearsal locations.  Our 20th Anniversary concert is scheduled for Saturday, April 8, 2017 at 7:00 PM at East High School.

We request dues of $10 per concert season($20/year) to help us offset music purchases and other operational costs.

We look forward to seeing you at a rehearsal or concert in the near future!
